Terry DesRoches is the past Chairman of the Community Futures Visions North Board of Directors. After nine years of service, Terry stepped down from the CF Visions North Board in 2017. He came back in 2019and is currently Visions Secretary/Treasurer,
During his time with CF Visions North, Terry served in a variety of roles. Starting as the representative of the Village of Air Ronge, Terry was also a member of the CF Visions North’s Loan Committee. During his time on the Board, he was elected as the Treasurer/Secretary before being elected several times as the Chair.
In that capacity, Terry represented CF Visions North nationally at the National Aboriginal Capital Corporation Association (NACCA).
Outside of his work with CF Visions North, Terry has been re-elected as village counselor for the Northern Village of Air Ronge. In that capacity he has served on several other tri-community committees such as the Tourism Board and Library Board.
In his spare time, he has been a volunteer for several years with the local play troupe. He started off as a set builder but was asked to step on stage when the troupe were unable to attract other members. Given his sense of community and helping out, Terry naturally agreed.
It is clear to see that outside of his outstanding work for the Community Futures program, Terry has been a dedicated Northern volunteer on several fronts and is very deserving of the Community Futures Award for Volunteerism.
Congratulations Terry from board and staff of Visions North,
