Indigenous Women’s Entrepreneur Program
The Indigenous Women’s Entrepreneur Program (IWEP) is a program offered by the National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA), which is designed to support and promote the development of Indigenous women entrepreneurs in Canada.
The IWEP provides a range of services to Indigenous women entrepreneurs, including access to capital, business planning and advisory services, mentorship, and training and development opportunities. The program also aims to promote networking and collaboration among Indigenous women entrepreneurs and provide access to resources and information to support their success.
One of the key components of the IWEP is the provision of financial assistance to eligible Indigenous women entrepreneurs through the NACCA network of Aboriginal Financial Institutions (AFIs).
AFIs are community-based lending institutions that provide financing and other support services to Indigenous entrepreneurs across Canada.
Through the IWEP, eligible entrepreneurs can access loans of up to $50,000 to start or grow their businesses.
Overall, the IWEP is an important initiative that seeks to address the unique challenges faced by Indigenous women entrepreneurs and support their success in business. By providing access to capital and a range of support services, the program aims to promote economic development and empowerment for Indigenous women across Canada.
