If the future of Community economic development truly lays with the youth of Canada then based on our recent Technology Camp, in partnership with Sask Polytechnic, we should do fine. The enthusiasm, creativity and collaboration they showed as a group was inspiring to witness.

Setting a realistic goal is key to crowdfunding campaign success

If you don’t already know, the group who ran the campaign on the www.cfcrowdfund.net portal is the York Lake Golf & Country Club. They’re a fantastic community organization with driven, connected, enthusiastic volunteers heading up the campaign.

This crowdfunding experience brought up something no one anticipated and it reassured us that going through a campaign, step-by-step, was an excellent learning experience.
Early estimates for 2016 Christmas shopping indicated that almost half of spending would be online. We bank online. We purchase event and travel tickets online. People are using credit cards in unprecedented numbers. An online campaign for fundraising is a no-brainer, right?
